Stevenson Bros are a road operator based in Central Scotland who also trade sawmill co-product and biomass.
We operate a fleet of large articulated vehicles with tipper, chipliner curtainsider and walking floor trailer combinations to move our customers’ goods. Whilst the majority of our fleet is operated from our home in Avonbridge, to provide a prompt and efficient service to our customers, additional vehicles are strategically based elsewhere.
Founded initially to haul sawdust and woodchip around Scotland, our customer base has expanded and diversified over the years. Now, delivered products include; bulk sawmill co-product, cereals, loose material for recycling, bulk bags, finished timber & pallets within the UK. At Stevenson Bros, we pride ourselves on a tailored service and an invaluable logistics partner for our customers.
Stevenson Bros currently operate a modern mixed fleet of both Scania and Volvo tractor units. All vehicles are fitted with onboard telematics allowing us to improve fleet efficiencies, meet customer expectations and monitor our environmental impact. Within our Scottish haulage operation, tippers are mainly used to transport bulk cereals and sawmill co-product. All tippers are TASCC registered, fitted with easy sheet covers and onboard weighing equipment. Our chipliner curtainsiders carry sawmill co-product, finished timber, bulk bags and palletised goods and operate throughout the UK. To allow our drivers to self load/ unload palletised goods’ some curtainsiders are capable of carrying a Moffatt Mounty forklift. Walking floors allow more flexibility for return loads and are ideal for those loads where goods are light in weight and cubic capacity is vital. Sawmill co-product, recycled, bulk bags and pallets are common products carried in our walking floors around the UK. Most are TASCC registered and many have internal hoppers for discharging cereals.
Our small family business ‘JA Stevenson’ started trading in Avonbridge back in 1948.
Stevenson Bros, superseded JA Stevenson in 1976 as JA Stevenson was approaching retirement and his sons were keen to develop the existing business.
Since then, Stevenson Bros has grown and diversified over the years into the well known Scottish bulk haulier we are today.
The business is owned and managed by James & William Stevenson.
