Stevenson Brothers Ltd Avonbridge operate a fleet of large articulated vehicles with tipper, chipliner, curtainsider and walking floor trailer combinations to move our customers goods within the UK.

We are currently looking to recruit a hardworking, time served, experienced HGV Mechanic to join our facility’s in Avonbridge, Falkirk working predominately on trailers.

The successful applicant must possess the following attributes:

Have recent experience working in an HGV Fleet environment, be time served or fully qualified NVQ in heavy vehicle mechanics or relevant qualification. Must possess a full UK drivers Licence. There could be an opportunity to continue your professional development and attain an IRTEC qualification and/or HGV Licence.

What you would do on a typical day:

As a HGV mechanic (trailers) you will be based in a small yet busy workshop environment where you will be required to undertake all levels maintenance, repairs major overhauls as well as completing standard servicing and diagnostics. You must be experienced and competent to follow the repair process from fault to completion. You will prepare and conduct routine inspection and Pre-MOT inspections. Work documentation including worksheets and daily timesheets must be completed effectively and efficiently. As and when required, you will be required to attend on the road breakdowns. The maintenance and repair of our fleet is paramount to ensure the successful and smooth running of our business. You must be computer illiterate and must be confident on using different computer packages.

Salary can be discussed for the correct candidate.

We can consider a dayshift (Mon to Fri 8am-6pm and Sat 6-12pm rota) or nightshift role (Mon to Thurs 6pm to 6am and Fri 6pm to 6am rota).

Due to continued growth, we are recruiting additional LGV C+E (Class 1) Tramper drivers to join Multi drop Chipliner team with vacancies out our depots in Avonbridge and Errol. • Experience of multi-drop / timber haulage is preferred although not essential as full training is provided.

This role involves working away from home Monday to Friday operating bulk tipper trailers, delivering a large variety of bulk product throughout the UK.

• Experience of TASCC bulk haulage is preferred although not essential as full training is provided.

We are currently recruiting for additional LGV Class 1 (C+E) Cab-Hoppers to complement our teams of drivers based at Avonbridge, Irvine and Errol. As a cab-hopper you will be covering driver holidays on a weekly basis across our modern fleet of Scania vehicles. This is a full-time permanent position and will involve being away Monday to Friday.
